• Paray le Monial

This part of the Saône- et-Loire is loaded with history (castles, Romanic churches) within a welcoming campaign strewed with flowery villages, rich in a patrimony of old stones protected well. Leave to the discovery of " the circuit of the Romanic Churches of Brionnais " . These Churches are framed by two major poles that are Paray Le Monial's Romanic basilica and abbey of Charlieu, which were with the convent of the Ladies de Marcigny, the main relays of the clunisienne power, in the region, in the XIth and XIIth centuries.
This density is exceptional on the scale of Burgundy and of Western Europe.

Bois Sainte Marie :

Romanic church of the end of the XIth century to limp squared, restored in the XIXth century. Remarkable ambulatory around the choir, bounded by a colonnade deserving the blow of eye. The capitals of the nave are very meaning.

Saint Germain en Brionnais :

Church typically brionnaise, built in stoneware at the end of the XIth century. In the nave: recumbent effigy of the XIIIth century, Sybille de Dyo; St Benoît's polychromatic statuette

Saint Laurent en Brionnais :

In this very restored church, remain constructions of the XIIth century, the transept covered between an octagonal dome on trunks, the span of the choir for three naves bent in cradle full round arch, and especially the bell tower squared in three floors of type brionnais.

The chapel Saint Georges :

This chapel was based in XIIth centuries and is situated to St Symphorien des Bois.

The chapel of Dun :

ST RACHO-( ALT.708M) In 1896, acquisition of the site by the Count de Rambuteau and at the beginning of the restoration. In 1900, inauguration of the new Romanic chapel built on the ruins of the church of the citadel destroyed in the XIIth century. In 1990 it is the beginning of the new restoration of the site. The chapel can be visited from March till June and in September and October every weekend and holidays from 3 pm till 7 pm. Every day from June 24th till September 8th from 3 pm till 7 pm.
